About Us

Namaste

My name is Lucy and I’m pleased to introduce to you Awaken Within- Yoga, Meditation & Healing Therapies. I am a passionate & dedicated 500hr senior Yoga alliance accredited yoga teacher, based in Worthing, West Sussex. I also teach at various venues across the county, including Shoreham by- Sea and Brighton & Hove. I first completed my initial 250hr yoga teacher training with Doveton Yoga School, London, I then went on to train as a Y12SR (Yoga for 12 step Recovery) leader, and later as a Jikiden Reiki Healer.

In 2024, ever the student, I was called to complete further training and deepen my own teaching. practice and spiritual journey. I took some time out and followed the path of the ancient sages to Rishikesh, India, the home of yoga, where I completed my pre/post natal yoga teacher training followed by sound healing & sound healing therapy qualifications.

From the foothills of the Himalayas I then visited Kerala and learnt the ways of the Ashtanga yogi under the intense heat of the pre- monsoon sun. Honoring my commitment to the routes of Hatha yoga & itching for more learning, I returned again to Rishikesh later that year to complete my 300hr YTT advanced yoga and meditation studies. Here, I deepened my practice further with traditional & Restorative Hatha Yoga, mantra, meditation, traditional Indian dance, philosophy & ayurvedic studies and became the senior yoga teacher, healer and the lifelong student I am today.

I am pleased to offer yoga, meditation, sound healing therapy, reiki healing, group soundbaths and my brand new offering, floating soundbaths on water. 

I am so very grateful for my travels, further trainings and to take daily practice on the path of my dharma. I am grateful I am immersed in the life long journey of the authentic self, with deepened practice and a renewed perspective on my life, work and soul’s purpose.

I am an open-minded and inquisitive yogi, my style is varied & constantly adapting. I consider myself to be the eternal student. I wholeheartedly believe that the key to living in alignment with the authentic self, with true presence and infinite joy, lies with our connection to the breath, to the centre, & the self beyond the layers. I know that it is my passion and calling to facilitate a space for others to align with the path of their truest intentions. I invite you to join me as we move through the blockages to find freedom, clarity & infinite joy in life.

For me, Awaken Within represents community, belonging, healing and connection. I am always learning & questioning my own beliefs & ideas, continually inspired by students. I evolve, adapt & develop based on my own practice & the practice of others, together we transform & together we awaken!

Long term, I hope to bring the joy & benefits of yoga, meditation, reiki, sound healing, soundbaths & floating soundbaths to as many as possible. Join me as we raise collective consciousness, connect with the breath (your life force), and discover the joyful sense of wholeness and healing your practice can bring you.

I was so grateful for the class and it felt more than I had anticipated it to be, Lucy invites you warmly to tap into your own spirituality in the most subtle of ways and join her in something more than just a yoga session. As someone with practically no experience in yoga, I felt remarkably comfortable and included and I will be going as often as is possible for me.
WOW, went along to my first soundbath this evening!!! What an experience, I felt at ease when I arrived (especially as I was a newbie and on my own) and came away feeling amazingly chilled and relaxed. Highly recommend- and Lucy is so lovely
Great teacher. Always leave feeling refreshed. Lucy helps build you up to some quite challenging positions, without it ever feeling intimidating; and gives you lots of different variations to make sure the sessions work for you
’My daughter and I have been to 2 Soundbath classes run by Lucy. I was amazed by the experience. I felt I experienced a different level of consciousness and afterwards felt very relaxed and euphoric. Even though my job can be stressful the following week after the soundbath continued to feel chilled out. Would definitely recommend this for anyone experiencing stress, anxiety or depression.

This is the first time I have ever been to a yoga class. Lucy made me feel very welcome. She creates a calm and relaxed atmosphere and my sleep has improved since going. I have knee issues so I have to adapt certain positions and Lucy is very supportive in helping with this. She shows the positions for all ranges of abilities so the class is suitable for all levels. I would definitely recommend these classes. The relaxation at the end is so good too
